Help A Sista Out!

I have this friend. Her name is Trudy. Our husbands grew up together and I haven't had the chance to meet her yet but I want to!

And she needs help.

No, not the psycho therapist kind of help.

My favorite kind of help. CLOTHES!

She has a wedding coming up real soon for one of her best friends and wants to look gooood. But she's not quite sure where to start. So.. if any of you know where to find some nice skirts or dresses head on over and let her know. I'm doing some research myself. Oh and she also wants shoe help!!

C'mon and help a blogging sister out!

I'm too frumpy to comment on such things.

But I will leave a comment just so that you will know that I did, indeed read your entire post. :)

How fancy does she want to go, Mariposa has really inexpensive formal and semi formal dresses, does it need to be garment worthy? that is harder! Is she looking online, I really don't know any good online dress stores!

I shop at Banana Republic, Target, and Macy's primarily. Macy's has great skirts and dresses, and they always have sales. Kohls is pretty good for skirts too.

Macys also has great shoes.

Brittany - you are not frumpy!! Any advice is good advice in this situation.

Wendy - Yeah, needs to be G worthy. But boleros and sweaters and shade under tee's do great things for strapless and straps.

Kristina - thanks! Oh I love banana. Jaren and I discovered that we love it. Were trying to save to get him a suit from there. :)

Okay what I did was look up "special occasion dresses" and here are a few websites:

1)http://www.chadwicks.com/womens-Special-Occasion.aspx?DeptId=8219&affiliate_id=023&affiliate_location_id=01&WT.mc_id=k115513&mid=j24256741
2)http://www.davidsbridal.com/specialoccasions.jsp
3)http://www.therosedress.com/dresses/dresses.html
4)http://www.dillards.com/endeca/EndecaStartServlet?N=1000894

Just a few I found online. Dillards is more reasonable prices than some of the others. And remind her that a shrug or a nice short-sleeved cardigan can Mormonize many of the dresses!!:)

Rychelle - yeah, I had heard of Anthro but never really checked it out till Tamn talked about it all over the place and when I checked out the website I fell hopelessly in love (a lot faster than when I met my husband, mind you). Now I look and look but that's about it. I think I'll check out the store when I come to Utah next weekend to spend my millions.

wendyburd - thanks! I bet she'll thank you for those.

you're so cute for helping your friend out. J.Crew always has lots of beautiful stuff, as well as Shabby Apple. Their prices aren't cheap, but they aren't the worst you'll find either. Spread the word!

I may be a bit late on the comment, but my sister just got an amazing dress at White House Black Market. They are a tad pricey, but her dress was on clearance and was under 60 bucks- plus she tried on a city cool skirt that was originally 70 bucks and marked down to 15. It fit like a dream!

If she is willing to pay there is so much in that shop that is to die for. Don;t let the simple colors fool you- they look SMASHING on!
