Nursing?

So, classes started last Monday and during my last class there were a few girls in there who, when the teacher asked who they were mentioned something about nursing as a minor. He even used quotation fingers when he said Minor. So... for those of you who do not know, I have two semesters left after I'm finished with the one I just started. That's 24 more credits to take then I'm done! After this summer semester I will have every class that is required for my Major completed, I just need the rest of my minor classes and emphasis classes. So... I got to thinking, I just wanna see. That day after paying my tuition, which is a million dollors.. blah, I went to the academic advising center to see if Nursing was offered as a minor. The girl at the desk told me that it didn't exist and I should talk to the nursing advising center to find out any more. So, I did. I was given a list of the classes required to get your RN. I happen to have every class taken except for the nursing classes themselves. 28 credits of nursing classes. So, automatically I kinda freaked out and realized that's 2 semesters and I could get my RN. I made Jaren come home so I could talk to him about it and he seemed really excited. So, I tried to get a hold of the Nursing Department Chair and I made an appointment to meet with her Friday to see if it would work. If I could drop my minor and maybe my emphasis and just double major so I would finish in two semesters still. I'm on track now to graduate in April of 09, and had I been able to do what I hoped I would graduate in July 09. But, you have to take classes in a certain order and cannot take more then is suggested for a semester. So, it spans out 4 semesters and that would mean I'd graduate in April of 2010. Well... that bursted my bubble. So, I decided for now not to do it. I don't want to go another year because i hope to have a baby sometime next year and that wouldn't be possible if I was in nursing school. So, I'll graduate on schedule and then later, if I decide I can apply and all my previous classes will still count and I could go 4 semesters with just 2, maybe 3 nursing classes at a time. It would be very doable, later. I struggled all week last week because I wanted to do it, but I didn't want the extra time added on and i didn't want to put off my other plans. So, after all the stressing and Jaren telling me to calm down I'm doing nothing different than what I'd planned on for the last year and a half.

This semester is going to be very busy. I have a heavy load with a ton of classes then require a ton of reading and memorizing. I'm taking 15 credits; Communicable and non Communicable Diseases, Epidemiology, Planning and Implementing Health Programs, Medical Terminology, Intro to Health Professions and Exercise Physiology which will be the hardest. I love what I'm learning, the body and health interests me incredibly. I just hope in 3 years I remember everything I'm working so hard to know. Oh.. by the way, I got a 3.7 last semester gpa. I'm happy about it, never got that high before. So, if I don't tell what I got this semester in July... It's not as high. :)

Playing with Isak

I was baby sitting Isak, and he was laughing and playing and I wanted to get that on camera but he was more distracted by the camera but he is still cute and you see him walking and talking a bit. You also have to listen to my annoying voice :) For those of you who do not know, this is my nephew, Kevin and Lena's boy.

Sweet Hotel

Behind me is the huge shower with a huge wonderful tub. And in front is a pretty vanity.

Jaren reading the hotel book. haha

The vanity outside of the bathroom.

This is a table with a bar or something behind it. That's the window to the balcony, I should have opened the blinds. The open door leads to the bathroom.

This is me standing 10 feet away from the bed, to the right is a desk and strait in front is a sitting area. And the dark spots on the top corner of the bed are yummy chocolates.

I'm still trying to learn how to post pictures. So I apologize for the sloppiness.

Whitney Day

That's right, today is Whitney Day. I finished school Thursday, the 10th, came home, cleaned house, did laundry, went to sleep, woke up Friday, cleaned some more, finished the laundry, packed, then left to Salt Lake. When we got there we found our room to be lacking much of a bathroom... and much of a bedroom. We were a little disappointed considering it was for our anniversary. So, Jaren calls the front desk, asks for an upgrade or something, well, the hotel was so full that we got put into an available room in the tower, the 16th floor (there are only 17 floors), we had a balcony and the room was HUGE. For only 20 bucks more a night. It was 3 times the size of our previous room with a massive bathroom with a vanity outside. I'll post pictures, we were so excited about it. Anyways, so Saturday was spent running around Salt Lake shopping, looking for bedding (which was our main focus). We found a duvet cover at Ikea. We ran to Provo to see some friends and got home late. Sunday we checked out went back to Provo to have dinner with the same friends and then headed home and got home really late. Monday I ran errands all day, into Rexburg, to Idaho Falls, home, getting things ready for me to take off the next day. Tuesday, I left to Boise and was there visiting Kevin and Lena and Isak, it was good to see them. Then, Thursday afternoon I left and got home that evening. So... Today, I have dubbed Whitney day, to do whatever I want before school starts. Tomorrow I have to run to Idaho Falls agian and get my books and stuff for school and clean my house again. So, everyone knows Lena is the running queen. She mentioned to Lindsey a month or so ago about running a marathon in August. Well, most of you don't know I have had this desire to run one before we decide to start a family so I can say I have ran at least one marathon. Lindsey and I decided we would start training. Well, we were really busy and you need to run at least 5 times a week and we were only getting 3 in. We have a training schedule and we did week 1, 3 weeks in a row. Then, I got sick and then finals rolled around and then this running around Utah and Idaho in the past week; 3 weeks has crept up on me and I haven't ran. I need to run. So, today on Whit's day, I'm going to run... after lunch :) I need some major motivation. Linds is back in Washington, my running buddy is gone. Sad day. Jaren said he'd run with me which will be fun! haha. He likes to keep behind me so I cant see him running and it drives me nuts. I have to yell to talk to him and if I slow down to get behind him, he slows down.... never ending cycle till were walking. Oh well... Okay, like I said I cant promise anything exciting but it sure gives me some purposeless chatting. Adios! Whit

Welcome Welcome!!

I have been wanting to start a blog for a few months now, but feel that I have nothing of much interest to blog about. I'm not pregnant and that would be exciting and something to blog about. I sure like to rant and rave every once in a while, so, that's what I'll do till I have something more exciting to put up.

This is what's been going on lately; I finshed yet, one more dreadfull semetser last Thursday and am starting another one Monday. I feel like it never ends. This next semester will be my fourth in a row and I have two more after this in a row. When I graduate next April I will have gone 6 semesters all in a row.... that's 3 years of school in 2 :) I hope to graduate pregnant and not too fat. I'm majoring in Health Science with a minor in Child Studies (figured it would help me in my future full time job). Jaren is finished with his Bachelors, finished a year ago actually and I couldn't be more jealous when he's watching TV and just sitting there with no stresses or worries and I'm on the other end with piles of books and papers and the computer freaking out about 3 tests that I have to take the next day. He wants to get his Masters, he just can't decide in what. He'll probably start the Fall after I graduate so one of us is going to school at a time. Then maybe he'll be jealous of me all fat and lazy feeding and chasing our baby around the house while he sits so peacefully on the couch with only one book and a few papers near him with the computer still watching TV and still getting A's... yeah, that's probably how it will work.

Snow has finally melted which means Jaren can start farming, I hear, a month later than schedule. I can't complain, I got an extra month of him coming home around 5-5:30ish and leaving around 8-8:30ish. Now, he'll leave at 7 and wont come home till 7-8ish. Blah. Oh well. We had our year anniversary a week and a half ago, it was pretty cool. I sat there all day thinking how wierd it was to be married and that I just had my first anniversary of (I scared Jaren by saying of 74, which, for those of you who don't know would mean he'd live to be 100, which he doesn't want so much). We went to Salt Lake to kind of celebrate last weekend, cause there was still 8 inches of snow on the ground, good thing we went then, cause we came back 2 days later to less than an inch. Crazy. This is really getting long... I'll post later.
