The Championship!!!

Last night was our championship softball game. As you can see, we won! It was my last fast pitch softball game ever. Unless I play this fall, but chances are high I wont. I thought about playing soccer with Lindsey but we'll see if she has time for it. That would be a lot of fun, I haven't played since fall of 2003. So, I made some pretty amazing plays, if I do say so myself, but batting wasn't my best. This whole season I have struck out once and what happens this game? I strike out twice AND I'm the third out BOTH times. Goodness, I was so mad. This ump's strike zone was either at someones knee's or their head. Not at the belly where the perfect balls could be hit and anyone else would call a strike zone. This is my third Championship out of 4 times playing softball. I just bring such luck to my team, I guess! (hahahahahha) Unless we don't have a good pitcher (which is what happened last time). The pictures are not in order.

Were Number One! Were Number One! We only lost one game this season, and that one shouldn't have been lost. This is what you get when you win a Championship at BYU-Idaho; T Shirts. I have 3 :)
My noble fans! They didn't hoot and holler like my second championship when my brother's were there. But, who needs hooting and hollering!
So, they said to make a mean face.... I didn't know that meant a "serious" face. So, here I am Grring out loud and no one else did. Boo.

Before the game, this was a fun picture. I'm the photog so I'm not in it.
I had to get a picture in my uniform before I got all sweaty and red cause it was hot.

This is one of the funniest things I think I've ever seen on TV.

The Soup is our Friday night favorite.

Wish I Could Meet Jack Someday

I would love to have one of the super cute backgrounds that looked like you scrapbooked them. I tried for a second but it did weird things to my page, so I switched back to my old one. Then it took off my entire blog list, which irked me because I had to look everyone back up and I finally just bookmarked the pages too so if that ever happened again I wouldn't be as irked. Not only did it take off my blog list, it took off every page element I had except "about me" and the past posts element. Boo! I don't quite understand why. Am I dumb? Is there something I did? Stupid backgrounds.

Anyway... just thought I'd let everyone know I'm now officially obsessed with Law and Order. I come home and leave the TV on and watch re runs on TNT while I'm doing homework. I tell ya, if I don't watch the beginning it's not as good of an episode for me. Is it morbid that my favorite part is finding out how the crime was committed? Or found or whatnot.

If you can't tell, I'm bored. Jaren is out checking water and I didn't go with him because I figured I might pass out.... but I'm wide awake. I should be reading for a quiz I have Monday... but, I seem to have a hard time getting myself to do any school work till the last nano second lately. Maybe because I'm sick of it!? Yeah... could be.

I'm also really entertained by the blog, "Seriously, So Blessed". It's someone posing as a Utah wife and plays the epitome of a Mormon Utah girl. My friend, Victoria sent me the link and I spent an hour yesterday reading posts. It's really funny. Lena, I think you'll especially enjoy it. What's even funnier is reading one of your friends posts who talks just like her. Not that I have any friends who do that. :) I really don't, but I'm sure you guys might. Hope everyone is having a super non boring night!

Oh yeah, I painted that extra bedroom I was going to re-do today and it's way too dark. I'm bummed and now we have to prime it and then paint it a different color. It's all my fault! I'm a bit stubborn and made us paint the whole thing.... I really should not have done that. I'll post pictures later. It looks like you walked into a super green pine tree needle.

Jerry Seinfeld!

This is Jessica at her luncheon. Jaren and I were able to go to the ceremony and it was beautiful. Then we had to rush through the luncheon to get to Salt Lake in time to go to the show. Jess looked beautiful and was really happy. I'm jealous; they are in Cancun on their honeymoon. :)
So this week has been one of the busiest this semester. I had things going on all day every day so far and it's so nice to sit here right now writing this with most of it out of my way. I had 2 hard tests, one in Epidemiology and one in Exercise Physiology. I had a take home test that was due wednesday in Exercise Phys, and a 12 page case study that was due in Epi today and a few other assignments that don't sound very impressive so I wont mention them :) I finished both my tests yesterday and the case study; it took all day. So, 2 weeks left of this semester and then it should be all down hill from here. Next semester is 12 credits (I'm taking 15 now and took 15 last semester too), with 2 or 3 pretty hard classes, maybe. Then my last semester will be 7 credits! I'm so excited to be done! I just don't think of it in months from now... just 6 months of school left; it sounds better.

Anyway, this last weekend we got to go on a mini vacation to Salt Lake to see Jerry Seinfeld. I had never seen him before and I haven't seen a lot of Seinfeld episodes. I know I know.. "What?! Whitney they are so great!" They ended in 1999, right? I was 13, not quite old enough to care a whole lot about anything other than TGIF episodes. But, Jaren on the other hand is old ;) He likes it when I tell him that when he graduated from high school I was a beehive. haha. He is a major Seinfeld fan, can tell you about any of the episodes and quotes them all the time. Not only him, but his family too. They will be talking about something, then one of them will quote something and everyone will laugh. At the beginning I felt so left out. Now, I just know they are quoting Seinfeld and someday I might catch up. We have all the seasons and Jaren wont open any of them to watch, he wants to tape the episodes on TV to watch. I find it really funny. So Jaren's parents got everyone tickets, 3rd row might I add :) The opening guy was a guy with the last name Papas, so they call him Papa. I wish I remembered his first name. He was super funny talking about how "What if humans really weren't supposed to eat meat." "One of the Saints comes back to God and tells Him, 'You know those humans.. well, their eating EVERYTHING! We've got a problem.' " I love comedians because not a whole lot makes me laugh super hard and I love to laugh super hard, who doesn't? One of the funnier things from Seinfeld was his encore bit. He started talking about the automatic toilets and how super sensor sensitive they are and how the sinks aren't as quick to catch on. "For the sinks, we have to do a David Copperfield arm waving just to get it to come on." Then, "and they seem to use the most sound reflective materials made by man, metal, tile, porcelain, what else can they use to make every noise reverberate in the room?" I can't remember the exact wording but it went something like this.... "nothing is made very tight. There are the cracks in between the doors and the door doesn't go all the way down to the floor so you see everyone's sad pants and socks and skinny legs. And your walking down trying to find an empty stall and you catch glimpses of these frightened deer in the headlights eye's through the cracks. What else can they do to make this experience more humiliating?!" That was the part that made me laugh the most, because it's all the truth. Every bit of it. I really had a good time and I love seeing comedians. We saw Brian Regan last summer in Idaho Falls and it was hilarious too. Hopefully he comes again this summer.

So, I made Jaren talk about it too, because I knew he'd remember more than I did. And he's never posted and I hope to get him to post more often. This is all I got and its sure better than nothing.

Jerry Seinfeld is the "King of Comedy", his routine was dead on. He spoke on his wife and kids and how he can't speak to his wife in his "normal" tone but has to use his "nice, higher-pitched, falsetto" tone. If that is not the truth, I don't know what is. He talked about how fathers wardrobes are frozen in the time period when we felt in our prime. Oh Jerry, its funny because its real. The opening act before Jerry was a guy named Pappa and he talked about his father always ending every conversation with "is that what you want" his dad would ask, "if you miss school today you'll end up a hobo living under an overpass panning for food and money... is that what you want?"

I hope everyone has a fun day today. I'm very excited for our reunions this summer so I can see my family that I never get to see. :) That will also mean this semester will be over! Happy 4th everyone! I sure do love living in this country. (I added the bolded things to Jarens entry because I like the way it looks)

Softball, Home Tours and Tractors

This week has been pretty eventful. I'm officially addicted to blogging, which is why I have been carrying my camera around with me. Which is why I have a zillion pictures posted. I had a softball game friday and we went to the Rexburg Parade of Homes Saturday with Jaren's best friend Kimball and his wife, Celeste. It was a lot of fun and Jaren was sure in a good mood as you'll see from the pictures and video.

This is one of my really good friends, Jessica. She is getting married Friday and I'm pretty excited for her. Jaren and I get to go to the ceremony and then the luncheon. After that it's onto Salt Lake for Jerry Seinfeld! I really wanted to see her and visit before she was married, so we met at Cold Stone for ice cream (suprised?) and visited for a good 2 hours. While we were sitting in some chairs outside, these two boys (looked to be just out of high school) walked up to us and kind of stood there. "Hi" they said, "Hello" we said, "How's it goin?" they said "Um, good, how are you guys?" we said "Uh, good" they said, then one of the boys said, "Uh, my friend her just wanted your number" Now, just to give you a visual there were 3 chairs, they were tall tables, we were sitting across from each other and I had my feet propped up on the 3rd chair. I also had my hands on my knee's at their eye level and my left hand was perched on top. I was just sitting like that, I promise I didn't do it as they walked up, but I was waiting for one of them to notice the ring on my finger... nope, no such luck. I tried not to laugh and I was about to tell them Jessica is getting married in 6 days and I'm married but she beat me to it, "Were both married.... sorry." HAHAHA, I'm very proud of myself that I kept a strait face, and they said, "Oh... uhh, sorry." One turned one way and the other turned the other, and then he turned around and ran after the other boy and they walked all the way around the building so as to not have to walk by us again. Ohhh, it was funny, and I'm so glad to know that I don't look like an old married maid.

This is me just after I bunted a sweet bunt that got me on first. I love to bunt! We have a super good team and we are ranked in first place. We won this game and I'm pretty bummed I wont be there next weekend for the play offs. But I will be there for the championship game! P.S. this is the fourth year I've played and I've been on two championship teams, although, I'm convinced if we had a good pitcher last year we would have maybe won that year too.

I love playing on this field because it has such a beautiful view. And it's a super nice field that was super expensive for the college. But it was definitely needed. It's just below the Rexburg Temple so that's also nice to look at when we are in the field.

So, this is why the video thats at the bottom doesn't tell the whole story. I just HAD to take a picture instead of capture this hilarious moment in it's entirety. Before you press play on the video, read my blurb about it first so you know what's goin on.

Just thought this was a pretty fireplace! I love the combination of stone and wood.

I am in LOVE with this basement. It's huge. Behind me is a projector screen thats massive. You can fit anything you want down there, it's like paradise. In the picture is Jaren and Celeste, I told them to pose and does anyone listen to me when I say that? No.

This couch is the smallest, most cutest thing I've seen. Then Jaren decided to sit on it. It was really funny, I took a picture, then wanted to take one with both Kimball and Jaren on it because nothing is more funny than two grown men on a teeny couch. (No, I did not notice that they crossed their legs the same way) And Jaren doesn't seem to look so happy anymore. Hehe.

This was after the funny video and Jaren was just having a blast crawling into every little nook and cranny that was in this house. Luckily, no one was in the rooms that we were in, otherwise we might have been kicked out. It was really dark and I let my flash take the picture that Jaren wasn't expecting. :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this room. There is also a black and white fabric chair that was really cute, but I couldn't get it in the picture. Someday, I hope to make my daughter very happy with something like this.

I thought this was a great idea. In the bathroom there was this beautiful built in vanity for your girls to primp themselves.

This picture comes from my favorite house. This looks like a rug, right? Wrong, it's carpet with the wood floor right up against it at the same level and around it. The carpet is the most soft, comfortable carpet I've ever been on (which is sayin something, because in our house, our carpet is spectacular). I believe it's called... frizzy, froozy, Shagadelic, Shaggy.. Ohhh, I can't remember, but it's really nice!

This is also from my favorite house that someday when we (HOPEFULLY) build a house Jaren said it would be just like :) (Probably just to get me to shut up cause I wouldn't stop rambling about how much I loved it all) I liked the bead board backing on this built in book case.

I got excited when I saw these tractors lined up all in a row; so I took a picture
(remember, I am carrying my camera around with me). There are 2, I believe that are missing from this assembly line. And, I couldn't pay them enough to bring them out and line them up for my picture.

This was taken really late at night, so my flash is all that lit it up. This is on Jaren's farm up on the hill (20 miles from our home.. yes, he drives up there to check on things ALL the time and I'm left at home for an hour bummed cause he just got home from work and then left again. ANd I would love to go with him, but I usually have homework I'm doing). These were the last planted spuds, so they are still babies, but I, again, got excited and had to take a picture. I'll take one when they are big, because the rows of them are beautiful.

Here is the video I am way way excited about. Jaren crawled into this little "playhouse" thing that someone made from the low roof, which is really smart. It was funny, he's 6 feet tall and just sat in this window crackin jokes. What we missed was him telling us that this was going to be his "life coach" office and people would come to this window and listen to him. I'm laughing and trying not to giggle the camera too much or giggle out loud. Which is why my voice sounds like it does. Enjoy!

June Brings Such Wonderful Things

I wanted to show a little bit of how crazy the weather has been. Granted, a lot of you already know, but it gives me something to blog about since I have no children. (hint hint Jaren!) And I like posting things even though they are a bit silly.

If you can't hear me, this is 40 mph wind on Tuesday this week. Monday was the same, but not as bad and it was maybe, 55 degree's? Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't remember. And I don't have a pretty flower garden planted because I've been much too busy and the weather has been horrendous. But my lilacs are trying to survive the elements!

Here is Wednesday, and believe it or not, that morning it snowed. I can't believe it, JUNE! Not even just June, the middle of June. (Almost middle). You can't even see the sand dunes and the snow didn't stick. But it was 32 degrees. In June... yeah... I brought back out the winter coat, ALMOST put on a scarf and gloves. I've been really good about not whining about having to live here forever. And I actually like it, but.... this day all day, I was actually rather sad. I'm ready for summer after this horribly long winter!

Thursday (yes, on the video I said the wrong date, I know) was getting better. It was still cold and I wish I had caught it raining, but I just got it after class before I was heading home. I needed to continue on my 4 day crazy weather broadcast even though this wasn't as drastic as the previous two days.

Friday, today, is finally much much better. It hit 70 degree's and was rather pleasant. And you know it's been a long yucky year when the first decent day in a while comes around and all your teachers are like, "Why are we in class today?" and let you out early. I have a story, though! (Yes, I know everyone is oh so excited cause I have the best stories!)
One day, I backed out of the garage and saw on our front yard this yellow tractor watering the lawn. It was so funny to me because I could tell it was moving or "driving" if you will and Jaren didn't tell me he had bought anything. So, he was so proud of his purchase, cause it's like kinda having a sprinkler system, but cheaper. Well, one day we were sitting at our counter looking out the back door and the tractor was watering the lawn, kinda like what you see now. I said, "We need to name him" And Jaren said, "Do we?" And I started laughing so hard because I thought he said, "Dooey" Like he had already named him, then when I realized he said, "Do we", not "Dooey" I laughed even harder, then Jaren caught on and we were both giggling, it was a rather priceless moment :) So, here is our tractor named Dooey! (his picture is up top)

Our Story

I have a few blogs that I posted on my myspace over the last few years. I don't know why I thought it, but I thought that I wanted to copy and paste my blog I posted the day after Jaren asked me to marry him. This was posted December 15, 2006. I apologize for the purple background I didn't know how to get it to go away. I added 2 pictures from our wedding, even though we are an "old married couple" now. It was 14 months Friday, on Vicki's birthday! I was reading my comments that people posted at the end and Lindsey said this,

"ummmm whit i think you spelt your future last name wrong.... you might wanna work on that one lol well yeah i am very excited to see you at christmas and i'm happy you finally know what love feels like and that your happy!!! i love you tons!!"

So, I started looking (I don't know why my font is different) to see what she meant. Well, I guess I was super excited or tired of typing, I oopsed my future last name! haha, at the very end of the post. See if you can catch it. It made me giggle. Oh, and the post was titled "Our Story" I have a few other posts I think might be funny, I might post them sometime cause my life now isn't as "eventful" as it once was.

This is the condensed version.. even though it's mad long. Enjoy!

I often look back at events and people in my life and see how it got me to where I am today. I am one happy camper today. I found the love of my life through the thick of it all that we call life. It wasn't easy, and I want to say quite a bit harder for him then for me, I put this boy through the ringer; he deserves everything he gets. And I hope I can always give him the best.

This is our story and a little bit of an update on my life :)

It started back in March of this year (2006) when I was working as a waitress at a small 50's Diner in Rexburg, Idaho. I was going to school full time and working part time. I believe it was the 17th of March to be exact when I waited on two young men that ordered just milk shakes. One had Vanilla and one had Chocolate. I made a little fun at how plain the both of them were in their choice. I guess that sparked Vanilla boy's interest. Then when I came back to see who was going to pay, Vanilla Boy let me know that he was picking up the bill. "Ohh big spender pickin up your friends milk shake." :) Apparently not many people make fun of Vanilla boy... and for some odd reason, he likes it ;) When he came to pay, he asked for my number, so I gave it to him thinking he was cute, why not. Found out that Vanilla Boy's real name was Jaren. Jaren left the restraunt then comes runnin back a minute later and asked what I was doin the next night, "My mom is in town..." I had already let him know that, so he left feelin a little sheepish. What is funny, is all at the same time all of this was happening, there was a boy I had been dating a little in their eating with his family, and there was an old friend that wanted to get reacquainted that asked for my number as well.

The next weekend he took me on a fun date, we went out to a place I had never eaten at before and went go cart racing; something I had never done before. A few weeks later the other guy I had been dating ended, it all fell through. And I really didn't want the other guy to call me, so I screened his calls.... :D We found out Jaren and I shared the same Chemistry class, so we went out weekends and studied during t he week. Everything was great except that this boy, Jaren, wasn't the most spunky of them all. It bothered me a little, because anyone who knows me knows that I need someone who can keep up with me, and put up with me because I'm a little crazy sometimes. But he intrigued me; he was a gentlemen, nice, opened the door for me, it was never a question of who paid or not. He was a local, born and raised just a few miles outside of Rexburg, Idaho. He knew fun things to do and we always did them. He was smart and a farm boy, which struck a small nerve, I'm a farm girl and always said, I'll marry a farm boy, but in no way will I marry a Farmer. He was all of these great things except that he wasn't spunky enough. So....

A month and a half goes by and it's time for Lindsy Mollotte and I to go on our patiently awaited cruise. We leave, I left Jaren behind with a hug and a "I'll see you in 10 days!" Keep in mind, I'm a bit uptight, I only hugged him, didn't even let him hold my hand. So, off we go, and here's where I met a fun, spunky, good looking man on the cruise living in Provo, Utahwho knows some of my friends from back home. We hit it off fast and I decided I liked him enough after some rough contemplating for the next week off the cruise and back in Rexburg. I spent the next week trying to figure out how I was going to tell Jaren that there was someone else that I liked. Finally I called him, walked over to his appartment, he met me outside and I told him. The boy's not daft, he knew something was up right away and he was so nice about it all. Told me he wanted to be my friend and wanted me to be happy. No bitterness (that I know of) and no anger, no mean words, just a hug when I about started to cry cause I felt so bad and a, "I'll back off, but I am still going to bug you from time to time."

Two months go by, and things progressed with Provo boy fast. Went strait up only to come to a harsh fall quick. He came every weekend for 7 weeks and that's a 4 hour drive up and 4 hour drive back. It wore on the boy, and he broke up with me. I had seen Jaren twice since I told him about my cruise boy. He would text me every so often and see how I was doing. Fathers day, Cruise boy broke up with me and I took it very hard. As crazy as it was, Jaren just happened to show up that night, he just held me as I cried. For the next month I went through the toughest break up I had gone through, and Jaren was my shoulder to lean on, he took me to go do things as often as we could just to get my mind off of things. We became friends on a completely different level. In the course of dating cruise boy, I changed my life around, decided I was going to go to nursing school in Provo so we could be together, I took classes so I could get done and move as soon as possible. Bought a housing contract to live with my best friend, Chelsi, starting August 27th, and I had made up my mind; I'm leaving Rexburg forever and moving to Provo to live with my best friend and start a new life. Little did I know what the future wouldhold.

I knew that I had started having feelings for Jaren again in July. The first time I was tempted to hold his hand, we were at a drive in watching Pirates of the Carribean 2. I brushed it aside thinking, 'I'm moving, I'm leaving, I can't get into this, I don't want to deal with breaking up again.' So, I fought those feelings for the next month. On my birthday I was in Park City, Utah. I realized I really liked him when I wanted so badly to be with him that day. I knew he would make me feel special on that day and I wanted it to be him that did it. I was having an amazing time with my brother, sister-in-law, and nephew but I had this nagging like I needed to be with him. So, I left at about 6 that night and drove 4 hours on my birthday, got back to Rexburg with an hour left of July 31st and spent it with him.

A little over a week later we had our serious talk that I had been avoiding for about 2 weeks. I stressed my worries about moving and hurting again and long distance and I didn't know what to do. That I didn't want to hurt him. He just held me and told me that I wouldn't hurt him, no matter what, he was going to be happy for me with whatever came. He would hate to never know what could have happend if we never tried. So,that night I held his hand for the first time, the next night we had our first kiss. We were together every day, and had been like that for the last month and then up untill the day I moved. I spent 6 weeks in Washington working during harvest to make some money. During that time, We talked every day and he drove the 9 hours to see me 3 weeks into it. I realized how much I had missed him when he showed up. On Monday, September 18th we had a relationship changing event. We went from, a dating couple, to boyfriend/girlfriend. We were on my tractor all day and that entire day he made me laugh like he'd never done before, and he was goofy and funny and spunky and everything I wanted. We were both such dorks we fit perfectly. Needless to say, I shed a few tears when he drove the 9 hours back to Rexburg. I spent the rest of my time in Washington missing him, wondering what would become of us, and playing the question game on the phone with him. Let me just say that I started to fall in love with him and didn't even really know it. Our guards were both down and our relationship grew stronger. He flew out in October just so that I wouldn't have to drive by myself to Rexburg. We made the 9 hour drive, and 2 days later I drove 4 hours to Provo wondering..... ' What is going to happen? I'm 4 hours away and back near cruise boy." Honestly I was a little nervous. Jaren had taken the semester off of school for work, and greatfully, it proved to be a blessing.

I realized I loved him in Seattle the day before we drove to Rexburg, but didn't say anything. I waited another 2 weeks till we went to Vegas with one of his friends and told him there, outside of the hotel with the rollercoaster... I'm drawing a blank on the name... He had been waiting to tell me that he loved me till I was ready to tell him. I'm so glad he did that, it made it not akward ever and put the ball in my court. I found out that I may have realized I had been in love with him for the last 3 weeks, but he knew since July. So... For the 2 months that I have been in Provo, he has not failed once to drive the 8 hours and see me every week. With the exception of Thanksgiving when I drove to Rexburg to spend it with his family and mine (they made a drive to spend it with us, there since 2 of my brothers are there now). I decided then and there that I couldn't live without this boy. I would never find someone anywhere close to how perfect and amazing he is. No one is as patient and would do anything for me. Just wants me to be happy and has never ONCE been in an argument with me. Has never once been mean or rude. Has always every time we get into a car, opened the door for me and always always makes sure I am feeling alright. Has nursed both me and my best friend when we were both bed ridden with food poisoning. Has done everything on my time frame and hasn't asked for one thing. He's perfect for me and I don't know how it took me so long to see, but honestly, I'm glad it did. Because of that we have such a strong friendship that has made our relationship amazing. My family loves him, always has, he hangs with my brothers in Rexburg even without me there. I love him with everything in me and want nothing more then to make him the happiest man on earth.

AND NOW FOR THE FUN PART :)

Once I had decided that I wanted to marry him, I put the pressure on. I had already shown him the one ring I ever wanted. He didn't bat an eye and made it happen. I told him I wanted that ring on my finger before Christmas and preferrably before I left Utah for Washington for Christmas. He's amazing. I have found mall jewelers suck, they will rip you off any chance they can. He found someone that had my ring custom made and put the most beautiful rock I've ever seen in it. They rushed and had it done in less then 2 weeks. All the while a goldsmith in New York was making my ring for my finger. Last night while we were walking around the Salk Lake Temple square with all of the Christmas lights and the beauty of the temple itself he pulled me to a quiet corner. There were tons of kids and people running around everywhere. And I couldn't stop staring at the temple that I knew we would be married in. At 8:18 p.m. (I know the time because Chelsi texted me as he was putting the ring on my finger) he let me know how he cared for me, and wanted to spend the rest of this life and the next with me. Got down on bended knee and asked me to be his wife. The second he was on his knee I was crying so bad I couldn't see anything. Infact I was freaking out so bad I didn't even say yes.. Haha, I said yeah... yes.. Ok yes! :) The ring is perfect, he is perfect, I can't stop staring and I can't stop marvelling at how I am the luckiest girl ever. (I'm sure every girl in love things the same thing, but.... really, he fought the battle and came out triumphant) He showed me he loved me and was willing to wait, and put up with anything I threw at him if it meant that he could have me forever. He makes me feel important like no one else has. I can't wait... April 6th, 2007 at 12:20 p.m. in the Salt Lake Temple, we will be sealed forever.

I'm moving back to Rexburg, the place I had thought I would never return again, and never ever would have wanted to live the rest of my life. But, it's with him, and I will go anywhere. He's changed my mind, he's a Potato farmer and I said I'd never marry a farmer or live in Idaho. Well, I'm doing both of those things and I am so glad I have my farm boy that knows how to work and take care of me. I'm going back to school 10 days after we are married. Oh.. And I need addresses for wedding invites :D So, send me a message with your address if you would like one. I'm the happiest girl ever!!!!!! I'M ENGAGED!

Oh Summer Where Art Thou?

It is now the 7th of June and today had a high of 50 degree's. It's a bit sad, but I wouldn't want it to be in the 90's either. But I'll take 70's to 80's!! Rexburg apparently hasn't taken notice that winter is OVER! I haven't posted in a while, so I have a few stories. This lovely little bamboo is my plant, Farkler. That's right, I named him because I have no offspring to name, I name my plants. This is Farklers story; In April I went to Porters (those who have lived in Rexburg will know how wonderful Porters Craft and Frame is) with my friend Celeste. Our intent was to look around and maybe find her a fish. Well, by the beta fish there were all these different types of bamboo plants. I have wanted a plant to put in my house for a while now and thought the braided bamboo would be perfect! Well, at the same time Celeste thought the blue beta would be perfect for her house. So, we went to the register to pay and we were trying to think of a name for her fish. On the wall by the register where all the trinkets, candy and games are there was a dice game (I think.. not cards, it was dice.. yeah) named Farkler. Well, I laughed out loud and said something like, "Farkler?! Who comes up with a name like that! Sounds too close to another name that people might take offense to!" So, I had the bright idea to name Celeste's fish Farkler. She didn't go for it so I decided I'd name my plant Farkler; it is much too good of a name to pass up. So... there he sits, on our tv console (even though our tv isn't even on it), making me some O2 and providing some lush greenery for me to look at. Also, if you'll notice the beautiful runner he sits on, I bought that today at a craft fair and am rather proud of myself cause Jaren loves it!
Here is my next story. There are three things on this shelf I could tell a story about... but I only intend to tell one. Although, I do loooove my "Home" thingy. On the right there you'll notice a totem of animals. When Jaren and I were engaged I told him for our honeymoon I wanted to go on an African Safari. Well, Jaren is a scardy and didn't want to get eaten by Lions. So... instead we went to Disney Land and he told me he would take me to the San Diego Zoo. We didn't end up making it to the Zoo, so I wont stop bugging him about a safari till he takes me. I want to see a real elephant and I'm so fascinated by Zebra's and a hippo! Ooo I'd love to see a hippo. So, I was at a mini Bazaar today and I found this. This is my African Safari Totem and I love it.
These, also, came from the Mini Bazaar. I am decorating and painting one of my bedrooms downstairs. I'm rather excited about it. I'm not going to squeal on the theme and give away my secrets but, green paint and these pictures are involved!
Here comes the clincher. I am playing competitive fast-pitch softball. I have been playing every summer since I started going to school at BYU-Idaho. This is my fourth and last year playing. It's rather sad, but I'm excited because my team is awesome! I play both shortstop and outfield. Yesterday there was a massive wind storm. We had a severe weather alert and winds were raging up to 50 mph. I was sitting in my house hearing it blow up against the house hoping that it wouldn't huff and puff and blow my house made out of half brick and concrete and half wood down. I sat there seriously, the whole time up until 3:45 (when I had to leave my house to get to the fields by 4) thinking our game would be canceled. I was texting one of my coaches for an hour and a half asking if the game would be canceled. Well, it wasn't and I had to get dressed and go to the field. It was horrible. I got there and I was watching our out fielders trying to throw the ball against the wind and it wasn't even making it to the baseline. It was crazy-looking; the ball would just hover and then drop. How are we gonna play in this! Our outfield can't even get the ball into the infield! Which means, also that all a better needs to do is tap the ball and they get a home run. So, the game started and I had to stand at shortstop slanted into the wind so as to not get blown over. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, we all played well and we won both of our games. Oh, we played a double header. Our first game was 13-6 and our second was 7-3. During the first game I slid into second base and got this cherry on my knee. Well, it wouldn't be so bad except that every time I bend my knee it opens and doesn't feel so good. Well, I couldn't get a good picture of it. The flash kept making it white and I have no idea how to turn my flash off, haha. These are the best 2 pictures.

At the end of May I went to Boise to see Isak on his first birthday. He was a happy cute little boy who walked and talked everywhere. He was a lot of fun to be around and I wish they lived closer so I could play with him more. Oh, and you too Lena ;) I also went to my best friends wedding in Washington the next day. It was beautiful and I'm so happy for Chelsi. She deserves all the happiness she wants. It was 19 hours of driving in 3 days. I was sure happy when I got home.

School is kicking my trash and I am very excited for my 7 week break in between this semester and next. The end is in sight; only 2 more semesters after this one. I'm just stumbling through this semester. It's taking it's toll and I need a break but I only have a month left. Jaren is very patient with my whining and softball is wonderful. It gives me a break a few times a week and I really need it. I've been wanting to start running every day for the last 2 weeks, but everytime I come home from class and want to it's blowing 20 mph or raining cats and dogs. It's always beautiful at 7 in the morning so... I am making a new goal of getting out in the morning to do it cause I've put on a few pounds in the last 2 months. Isn't summer supposed to thin you up? Not for Whitney, I guess. We bought a bowflex, it's been Jaren's dream to have one since he was 12 years old. He has been using it 3-4 times a week every week and he feels great. I need to use it too! So.. those things are kinda the most exciting things in my life right now. Enjoy! We love you all!

Love Spring

So, there is a lot of wind, and there has been quite a bit of rain lately. I got so excited when I saw this rainbow, cause it's the first one this year. I took it from my front door. And I loaded two of the same pictures and couldn't delete one of them, so I shrunk it. That's this little guy below.

This morning I went outside to take some pictures of Jaren's grain babies. I took a picture of the sand dunes too. This is my back yard, I happen to think its beautiful, just wish it was closer to town.
Jaren's Grain Babies! They get pretty when they grow big. Untill they stop watering it and it gets golden. It's pretty then too, I just like green better.
Our tree's are still brown and baren, but this is a bush in my backyard and it's blooming! I can't wait till it's all green and pretty.

Tis the Season

We have had such a late spring and usually everything would be in the ground by now, but planing is a month later than usual. I said I lived up against the sand dunes. Well, to be a little more acurate, I'm about a mile from the dunes, and this is what fills that mile. Behind me is the sand dunes and this is one of their fields, soon to grow little grain babies. I don't know if you notice or not, but that's all sand. Can you believe things can grow so well in it? And they sure do.

Someday it will all be green! Not brown.
He looks like he's posing for his first day of school. haha
I ordered him up there and told him to smile, so that's what I got.

Jaren's new tractor hooked up to their grain drill.

Because it is the season I don't get to see my husband hardly at all it seems. He's up and out the door around 7, and that's when I wake up. Then maybe I see him for lunch if I can get home fast enough from school, and he gets home from anywhere in between 8-10. Then, we go to bed before 10:30.... see how that works? Needless to say I have tons of time to study.
