Pregnant

I am officially out of the pregnancy closet!

I've been dying to talk about it all, but since I had the opportunity to tell just about all of my family in person I kept my mouth shut until everyone heard it from me. This last week I told the last of them and so it meant I could squeal to everyone else whenever I wanted. So I waited 2 days. :) Another thing is when you tell people right away it makes the wait SO LONG for them. And it's already seemed long enough for me.

I'm 3 months, two more weeks left in my first trimester. I'm due November 3rd (my best friends birthday). How have I been feeling? Sick. I have not been throwing up, which I'm very grateful for. Not that I don't feel like I need to quite often, my body just likes food so much, I guess, that it doesn't want to waste any of it. My thighs and face will confirm that. I started taking my prenatal before bed and it's seemed to help a bit, I've not been as nauseous the last few days. It's been nice not having to eat every 45 minutes. Food; nothing really sounds good. I've really liked Bajio Salads. When I went home I had the best tasting Mexican food I've had since... well, the last time I ate there. It's too bad nothing is as good here.

Cramps. A lot of cramps. Anyone else go through their entire first trimester feeling every itty bitty stretch and pull of your uterus? Only sometimes are they painful, most of the time just uncomfortable. I've already made sure everything is fine. But since it's been constant through my whole pregnancy (started before I even knew I was pregnant) and I've made it to 12 weeks I'm not worried. I think I'm just a bit more sensitive to the changes goin on.

I've had my first ultrasound at 8 weeks and the little guy was moving quite a bit. Didn't like the spotlight. Every time the ultrasound thing would push on my belly to get a better view he'd try to move away. Doesn't like the spotlight? Or his picture taken? A lot like his daddy, I'd say. We go in tomorrow to hear the heart beat. I'm excited :) It will just confirm that everything is moving along well. Oh, I keep up on the weekly updates of the development and my kid has fingernail beds, nostrils, elbows and knees, no webbed fingers and a brain. He (yes, I'm calling it a he until I hear otherwise) has a lot of other things, too, but I get excited about the new things. :)

Some of you understand how very much I have wanted this. I am so incredibly happy. I'll whine about some of it, but I am constantly happy with my situation. I feel so blessed that everything has happened at a time where it is perfect (even though I couldn't see further than what was in front of me 5 months ago). I'm finished with school, we just celebrated our 2 year anniversary, we'll have been married for over 2 1/2 years when the kid pops out. I'll be 23, Jaren will be weeks away from 28. Now I get to enjoy making a baby, and getting the house and our lives ready for the change. Which I completely understand will be drastic. But we are very much ready. :D

I'm experimenting with my blog layout. Anyone know how to put your own background into the "layout"? Some sort of code...? I'm not sure how much I like the header I have at the moment. You will probably see a lot of changing going on till I find something I like. Your feedback would be wonderful!

Here is my 12 week picture

I look great, huh! Haven't gained an ounce.

Hah, yeah right. That was 6 weeks. Here is 12 weeks and very much GROWING.
What bothers me is when I'm SO excited about actually looking pregnant and people think they are being nice by telling me I don't look any different. Yes, I realize that unless you've seen me on a regular basis I just look fat. But by no means do I feel like I look the same as I did 3 months ago (or even 6 weeks ago!). So, take note, when a barely pregnant girl says, "Look! I'm showing!" with a smile on her face, don't say, "Oh, no, sweetie, you look the same." Or, "I can't tell any difference." Because what do I hear? "You looked that fat 3 months ago when there was hardly any baby in you." Instead say, "Yeah! you sure are growing." something, anything to confirm there is a DIFFERENCE.

Yes, the difference is minimal to everyone else but me. But don't rain on my parade... I'm excited about the change.

What an exciting time, Whitney!

So, you definitely know it's a boy?

Whitney R said...

nope, it's a bit more "gender neutral", well as neutral as you can get. more so than she. But I refuse to call it an "it". And I can't think of any good names to nickname it. Jaren threw out "pat" cause it's for a boy or a girl. And I said NO. :)

you look great! i love it!! that is such a cute baby bump. i can't wait for all the updates.

i took half a unisom and a b6 every night before bed and it TOTALLY helped with nausea. try it, it's amazing!!

being pregnant is fun...and exhausting. your body will change in ALL sorts of ways. but enjoy it and don't let ANYONE rain on your parade!

i am SUPER excited for you! i am hoping it's a girl...max needs options!!

Congrates! I had pains in my first trimester as well. It scared me to death. One minture everything is great and the next I am doubled over in pain. You should nickname your little one something like peanut. I think it sounds cute. Ben would not let me call Cynthia peanut. Congrates again!

congrats!!! that is super exciting!!! I am just over 14 weeks, and i think I am finally out of the sickness phase, YIPPEE!!! also I will say i do the unisom, B6 and Ginger pills before bed and it has helped a TON with the sickness too!!! but you may be heading out of the woods by now!!

P.S. I do have to say I didn't get the riddle until i read the comments....let's just blame it on the pregnancy brain...I swear you lose brain cells when your pregnant, just beware!!!haha!

LOVE the baby bump!! And really--around the 3 month your nausea will fade and you will feel great until the 8th month and then you just get really tired. I am really and truely so happy for you!! Congrats again!!

Oh, Tiffany, before I had even taken a test and knew I was pregnant I knew something was weird. Well, a lot of things were weird. But I could NOT remember my times tables. I couldn't remember words, easy words for things! It's getting worse.... I don't need to wait, it started before I even knew what was going on. It really is a good thing I'm finished with school so I don't need my failing brain anymore.

Just wait until you have 3 kids. No brain cells left AT ALL. I am positive that they exit your body along with each baby.

Oh my word! I am due Oct 30th:) How fun to be pregnant with a bloggy friend! I am glad you have not been too sick. I didn't throw up either, and was feeling really good all week until the last two nights and then I wanted to puke, I didn't but I was all mad because I was sure that I was done with morning sickness! oh well. It will be fun to follow each others updates:) I have not taken a picture of my belly, I guess I need too:) Yay!

Congratulations again and again! I agree that those first weeks are the hardest because you just want to shout it from the rooftops that you are in fact pregnant and not just sporting a spare tire around your waist!

The cramping is normal; it's the baby implanting into your uterus and then it is the uterus basically getting a kick-start on making that baby! Fun, right?

Now that you are prego and people know about it, everyone will seem to tell you their own personal horror stories on being pregnant [don't ask me why, I hated that] or on labor & delivery. Don't listen. Take it with a grain of salt and either say thank you or just smile. EVERY single pregnancy is completely different. Trust me. If you have any questions, just ask but I promise I will not offer up and horrible stories!

Congratulations again!!

WHit-
I was very crampy with my 1st trimester..very normal unless you start bleeding...all that uterus stretching hurts! Dont worry, that baby bump will be there soon enough and then it will stay much longer than you would like...

Congratulations, I'm excited for you. Having kids is the bestest! Oh, and people will try to be nice to you during the entire pregnancy, and tell you you're not showing even when you feel like a water retaining sea cow and random people are asking when the baby is due. I sympathize, and I'm sorry. I hated that myself.
But it's worth it, because you're finally going to have a baby!!!

Yeah!! You have wanted this for a while! Congrats!! Just for the record I think you are looking HUGE!! j/k Don't worry, soon enough you will be showing so much and feeling so big that you will wonder why you ever wished for that... I totally know how you feel though wanting people to just SEE that you are pregnant. Oh I am so excited for you!

Congratulations! Isn't it great not having to keep it a secret!! I hated when people told me I looked the same, when my stomach was huge for being 3 months! Since we've been in Jersey everywhere I go people ask me when I'm due, it's great! haha. No more - "you can't even tell" stuff :) Hope you feel better soon!
