My First Digital Scrap

I had no idea you could even do this on your computer until I met my friend, Victoria.

She told me about how amazing it was and how real digital scrapbooking looked. Before this I would sit for hours trying to work on one page by cutting, positioning, then re-cutting and finally taping, then not being super satisfied, but being too tired to deal with it and it never get's fixed.

The problem was I didn't have any software and didn't know what to get. I looked around and then I realized that one of my bloggy friend's blog has amazing scrapping.

Why don't I ask her?! So I did, I asked Brigitte what software she used. She was so kind to send me an email explaining what she used, so I downloaded a free 30 day trial.

It took FOREVER to download and I once I had it open I had no idea what the heck I was doing. I tried to figure it out but just got super frustrated. After a few frantic e-mails to Brigitte she told me about tutorials at Shabby Princess where I download all of my elements. I read one of them and figured it out.

Feast your eyes my friends!!! I can now digiscrap!

I stopped when I had everything in place. Tomorrow I will figure out how to add shadow's and whatever the finishing touches are. But for now.. I'm pooped.

(I'm trying to decide if I should add "learn how to digiscrap" to my new years resolutions since I just accomplished it. That would sure boost my self esteem to have already finished so mething)

Yeah, I'm trying. It's not the best page, but I'm more excited that I figured out how to use the program.

That is SO cute Whitney! And you should Add it to your list, it will be a confidence booster! And as for having to change it to 3, you could keep it as 2 if it is 2 Christmases as a married couple?

Adorable! That almost makes me want to scrap!

And I always try to add something I've already done to any to do list I'm making. It makes me feel all productive, and for me that's half the battle!

Oh I LOVE digiscrapbooking! My sister got me into it a year ago and I could spend hours doing it. I do it from an online company called Heritage Makers. You dont have to download anything and its all online so if your computer crashes or whatever, your stuff is still saved. When you are done with a project you can have it printed as a really nice book and sent to you. I do one every year as our Family Yearbook. Infact, I think youve inspired a blog in me too.... ;)

That is so cute!
I didn't know it could look so cute without the glue and special scissors and stamping.

Dang. I might have to give it a try.

Cute Whit, Congrats! You'll be addicted in no time. I use Shabby Princess to learn things too. I'm still in the beginning phases of figuring out the software myself.

Oh, and I saw someone's comment about Heritage Makers. They are pretty cool too.

Keep giving us more!

nice! Im not a scrapbooker but I'd love to document Ginger's life. I have no cool documentation of the first 15 years of my life. (I forgive you mom). I know that the whole actual scrapbooking thing is just out of my realm of talent and patience but I might be able to handle this digi stuff. hmmmmm.
I think your first try looks pretty awesome. But i would expect nothing else from someone who makes stars look so rad.

I've got to learn how to do this!!! I use to be a scrapper, but haven't been doing much for about 4 years. I think I could really get in to the digital thing.
Here's a dumb question...
Do you print the pages out? Do they print out 8 1/2 x 11 or 12x12? Or do you just keep and view it all on the computer?
When are you coming down here again? We still need to have our crafty weekend!!!!

You should absolutely add digiscrap to your New Year's Resolutions list. Don't think twice about it. Is there anything better than adding an item to your "to do" list that has already been completed? I would highly recommend the confidence boost.

It works everytime with me! :)

PS: I also have to tell you that I was thoroughly impressed with your mad, mad digiscrap skills. I would never have lasted as long as you did!

It looks really cute, but it does not do justice to your airport problem.

I'm so proud of you Whitney! Yea!! Your first page is way better than my first page was... you'll be passing me in no time. And thanks for the shout out too... nothing beats linky love. ;)

Someone mentioned brittishdesigns... I LOVE brit. I think she's my favorite designer, I love everything she does. Another good one is littledreamer. The best thing about digital scrapbooking is it's so cheap! you can reuse everything and there's so much free stuff out there! I don't know if I told you this yet but you should really invest in an external harddrive to store all your elements and pages. Then you don't slow down your computer with all the extra files. Anyways, just a suggestion.

Well you're looking good! Keep it up! :)

That is a really cute page! And since it is digital scrapbooking, is it easy to change the 2nd Christmas to the 3rd Christmas?
