until they are old enough to be able to pay attention to the movie - how old is that anyway?
I took Jaren to Twilight and there was a screaming baby throughout at least a fourth of the movie. Did the mom take it outside so as not to bug the people who payed 3 bucks to enjoy the movie? Nope. It was then that I officially vowed to never take a baby to a movie. I will find a sitter or wait to rent.
Happy New Year!

THREE BUCKS???? WHATTTT?????
But I did just see it for free. So there! I don't know how to do a smiley face with a tongue sticking out, or else I'd do one right now!
Don't ever go to the Dollar Movies.
Where have you been, my friend?
Julie - I know, I ALMOST wish I had just waited a month. Almost.
Kristina - I've been busy! And reading books :) I'll email you today or tomorrow
I TOTALLY AGREE 100% with you.
The first movie I took Deklan to was Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. He was almost three and had finally toilet trained that was his reward. He's special though, and likes to be a grown up and socialize with them...
We took Deklan and Piper was three when she went to her first movie.
So we grew bolder and took Deklan, Piper, Kai and my brother (who was 16) to Madagascar. Billy spent 3/4 of the movie in the van with Kai while the rest of us watched the movie. He was two.
I say.
If your child can't sit through "Go Diego Go" don't take them to the movies...
If they cry...
LEAVE
we took taylor to the movies quite a bit actually. only when he was very tiny + slept the whole time. he wasn't much a of a crier until he was a couple months old.
i totally know what you mean though! we've been to a lot of movies where babies/small children are completely ruining it. [especially in UTAH!] dang crying babies, LOL... :)
I think crying kids don't belong at movies either. Our kids would reach that awkward age of "too young to leave, too old to take with us" and we would stay home until they were old enough. Wrong to wreck everyone else's good time.
i think i'm one of those mommies...oh no!
we took max to the movies a ton when he was tiny and hadn't for a long time but recently took him and man oh man it was bad. i promise i took him out though!!
sorry world for being that mommy!
I agree with you! The last movie I saw in the theaters was 'Knocked Up' and that was because we had family in town to watch our daughter! We are big fans of Netflix now and rent EVERYTHING! I miss the theater though!
Oh yeah, I agree: Babies don't belong in movie theaters. Period.
Que and I went to Valkyrie and there was a crying baby in the audience. I'm glad I didn't have to sit that close to all the noise.
Why would you want to take a baby to a movie? What fun would that be?? It's all about getting a sitter and enjoying some free time. How lame. If I couldn't get a sitter, I'd much rather wait for the movie to come out on video and watch it while he/she was sleeping.
This is one of my all time pet peeves!!! I really don't think babies belong in movie theaters!!!!! Which is why Eric & I like to hit up the 10:30 shows...they are mostly empty anyway, and parents of young kids normally won't go out that late ;o)
I HATE it when peole bring their babies ESPECIALLY when they refuse to take them out!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Question, Brittany: Why would anyone take a baby or children to see Valkyrie? Umm it's rated R! Once, there was a whole family behind MY family, who are all adults, in a rated R movie. It was so weird! I don't want my kids exposed to that so early! There's a reason they're rated R!
There is such a thing as 3 dollar movies? I am paying 10 bucks here, with wailing babies!! I would hope I would hire a sitter, as a former sitter, I appreciated the work!
I was WoNdErInG where your blog went! Glad to find you!
let me just say this-
baby sitting money is money NEVER to be skimped on, It is essential to sanity and happiness. That is all.
Oh- and Happy Birthday!
happy birthday whit-friend :)
i was on face book earlier + taylor saw a picture of you + said 'there's whitney! she's so small'... it was random and made me laugh.
i miss all your posts + twitters. you must be busy lately. or pregnant. ARE YOU PREGNANT?
I agree! Imagine how mad you will be one day when YOU have PAID for a BABYSITTER for YOUR child and then you go to a movie and listen to some other LOOSER'S child crying. I think there should be bouncers at movie theaters who go and kick people out if their kids are noisy :0)
My husband and I went to see Curious Case of Benjamin Button this week and an idiot couple brought a two year old and a four year old! They were running around making noise and this guy went and told them to keep their kids quiet or they could pay to refund everyone's ticket (mean but funny). Um...they left.
Looks like you had a fun Christmas!
Hahahaha, Amber, I'm not pregnant. Not yet anyway. And why does everyone think it's my birthday? hahaha, I can't stop laughing. Your the second person today. My birthday is on July 31st :)
Teresa - that's so funny. I wanted to yell, "Take our your kid!!" But I didn't. SOmeone else, however, did say, "SHSHHHHH!!!" really loud. :)
What! it was your birthday?? Im sorry Im late. :( Taylor's so sweet and charming, I mean, hes only six and already knows that telling a woman she looks small is like the best thing ever!! So did Jaren like the movie?!
Oh its not your birthday, I just read your comment, Im dumb. Incidentally mine is January 26th. Im just saying ;)
I changed my blog address.
I appreciate that you won't take a small child to a movie that they shouldn't be there to see.
